Service & Duty
My commitment to this country began early. I enlisted in the U.S. Navy during my junior year of high school, and that call to serve never left me.
After the Navy, I joined the United States Marine Corps, where I served more than a decade on active duty as an infantry Marine and later as a Marine Corps Drill Instructor. Those years shaped me through discipline, courage, sacrifice, leadership, and an unshakable sense of mission.
When I gained custody of my eldest son, I made the decision to put family first and take on my most important duty: being a full-time father. But my service to this country did not end there. I later joined the Army National Guard, serving another 11 years and continuing my commitment to both country and community.
Today, I carry those same values into the Oregon State Legislature, where I serve with honor, integrity, and a firm commitment to protect the freedoms I once defended in uniform.
